was the first North American woman to conquer Mount Everest. A true inspiration. Born in Halifax, raised in Vancouver. In 1977 Sharon Wood climbed Canada's highest mountain, Mt. Logan. She climbed in Alaska, Argentina, Peru, and then Nepal. On May 20, 1986 she reached the summit of Mount Everest."The first time I tied into a rope, I was twelve years old and there was no looking back.
